There is amazing news available about Illinois Electric Choice.  For instance, there is creation of jobs through the Energy Office. The office also through its programs and policies sees stimulation of economic development in the Green Economy. The programs and policies helps in economic growth improving the environment as well as diversity in Illinois Electricity choice.  Through the energy and recycling policies and practices, the Energy Office continues to foster leadership of the State of Illinois.

There is a New Construction Program underway providing grants to public sector entities. This is aimed at encouraging applicants to design new rehabbed buildings for energy efficiency. One should endeavor grab this opportunity for the $/kWh offered incentives for facility design improvements beyond code. Qualification for the design bonus on beyond code performance is definitely assured to those buildings seeking LEED certification.

Another program that is sure you might not be aware of is the Natural Gas Energy Efficiency Programs which was authorized by Public Act 96-0033. This program is not one of those started a while ago. Actually, it began June 1, 2011. Together with the already existing electric efficient incentives, the new natural gas efficiency incentives are incorporated in the Public Sector Energy Efficiency Programs.

As much as I have mentioned the above programs, Smart Energy Design Assistance is another. Through the partnership of  the University of Illinois School of Architecture, the DCEO aims at provision of technical assistance services to businesses, federal, public schools, community colleges state and local government, public universities and colleges so that assistance is given to those clients considering energy efficiency improvements at existing facilities or to enhance baseline design of new facilities.
